2. SCHEDULE A FREE WATER LESSON FOR YOUR CLASSROOM
Check out Snohomish County Surface Water Management’s menu of FREE fish and water lessons at www.waterlessons.surfacewater.info (or try http://www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Public_Works/Divisions/SWM/Services/WaterLessons). Check to see if other teachers at your school would like the same lesson, then follow the link at the top of the web page to use Surface Water Management’s new online scheduling system. Just answer a few easy questions and we should have all the information needed to help you schedule a fish or water lesson for your classroom. NOTE: We’re just about booked for this school year, but think about a water lesson might fit into your schedule next year!!

3. NEED MONEY FOR A FIELD TRIP OR CLASSROOM PROJECT?
A. Wheels To Water Transportation Grants (up to $300) are offered by Snohomish County Surface Water Management to local teachers to help you take a fish or water-related field trip. To be eligible, you must have taken a Surface Water sponsored workshop or class at some time in the past. For more info and the application form: http://www.co.snohomish.wa.us/documents/Departments/Public_Works/surfacewatermanagement/information/fieldtripgrants2009-10.doc

B. DonorsChoose.org This is an excellent way to fund your special classroom projects. The application process is very teacher-friendly – even if you’ve never applied for a grant before you can do this! Your project gets its own web page that you and your students can share with anyone who has access to a computer. Donations are made online to DonorsChoose but deposited to your project so you don’t have to handle the individual donations. DonorsChoose.org
