Mission 

EEAW promotes excellence in environmental education through a broad and effective network of practitioners and stakeholders, and serves educators for the purpose of achieving environmental literacy, a healthier environment, better quality of life and a more sustainable economy and ecology.

Vision

The link between education, the environment, economy and social justice will be widely understood and applied leading to the increased health and vitality of Washington’s citizens, communities and businesses with the following specific outcomes:

• The quality of education will increase as environmental and sustainability education are integrated fully and employed as the norm in Washington State.
• Representation of diverse cultural and professional backgrounds is the norm within environmental education and other professions serving the goal of a sustainable society. 
• Natural places will be valued and natural resources will be thoughtfully utilized with future generations in mind.  
• Research will track and report the impact of environmental education resources, training and programs on the decisions, behaviors and livelihoods of learners and leaders.
